Why Your Family Photos Matter More Than You Think
Printed photos are cute for decor, but we’re discovering they serve a deeper purpose.
What your kids see every day matters. Not what’s saved in your phone or sitting on your computer or tablet. It’s what’s in front of them, what they see walking through your home.
And for a lot of families… that part is missing.
It’s Not About Being “Good” in Front of the Camera
One of the biggest things I hear is, “I’m awkward in photos” or “my kids aren’t going to cooperate.”
And honestly? That’s normal.
Not every session starts off easy. Not every person responds to the same approach. And that’s exactly why I don’t treat every session the same.
Recently, I worked with a senior who was a little more reserved. The usual approach — music, energy, trying to loosen things up quickly — wasn’t going to work for him. So I adjusted.
I slowed things down, paid attention, and found a way in that actually worked for him instead of forcing what usually works.
That’s the part people don’t see!

This Is Why Consultations Matter
Before we even get to your session, I’m already paying attention.
How you communicate. Your energy. What might make you comfortable — and what probably won’t.
Consultations aren’t just about booking a date. They help me understand who I’m working with so I’m not walking in guessing.
Because the goal isn’t to make you fit a certain experience.
The experience should fit you.
What Your Kids See Every Day Matters
There’s actual research behind this.
Children who grow up seeing themselves in family photos tend to develop a stronger sense of belonging and connection within their family.
Not because of the photo itself — but because of what it represents.
“This is my family.”
“I’m part of this.”
“I matter here.”
And that doesn’t happen when your photos stay in your phone.

Your Camera Roll Isn’t the Problem
Most families I work with have hundreds — sometimes thousands — of photos. That’s not the issue.
The issue is where those photos live.
Because your kids don’t see your camera roll. They see your environment.
What’s in front of them becomes normal.
What’s visible becomes part of their story.
You Don’t Need to Be Perfect , You Just Need to Show Up
You don’t need to know what to do.
You don’t need perfectly behaved kids.
You don’t even need the “right” personality for photos.
You just need someone who knows how to read the room and adjust. That’s my job!

Let’s Make Sure These Moments Are Seen
Photos shouldn’t just exist.
They should live where your family can actually see them.
If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your reminder.
